Currently, Ukrainian users can download the Revolut app and sign up for the waiting list. Verification is done via «Diia», a video recording, and a passport photo.
Revolut said that access to the beta test is being given to groups of users from this list. One of the groups received early access on January 6.
«We will not release the product to customers until the offer has been properly tested (therefore, we do not indicate a specific date, as it may change). The financial services market in Ukraine is regulated, so everything must also happen according to the rules. We coordinate our actions with our key stakeholders, including market regulators», — Revolut said in a comment to DOU.
The company did not specify how many Ukrainians have already gained access to the application. «We can now confirm that this is the largest waiting list we have ever had on a global scale. It is clear that many people want to try Revolut, although this also means a great responsibility for us,» Revolut noted.
Previously, dev.ua told us what options are already available in the Revolut application and how the verification process works.
Revolut has a Lithuanian license and can operate in the EU. To enter the Ukrainian market, the neobank will need permission from the NBU, the National Bank of Ukraine said in a comment.
