Detective solving crimes committed by AI agents: 11 professions that may appear thanks to artificial intelligence
Despite many fears that artificial intelligence, especially generative AI, will displace jobs—particularly in IT—human professionals will become indispensable for controlling processes. This applies to both creating, updating, and ensuring the accuracy of the models themselves within companies, as well as addressing all the ethical and legal issues associated with the implementation of AI. Here are 11 new types of professions that are just beginning to emerge.
1. AI agent behavior coach
These professionals will be responsible for “tuning autonomous agents to reflect brand tone, business goals, and ethical values,” explains Marinela Profi, head of global AI and generative AI market strategy at SAS. “They will ensure that AI doesn’t just act, but acts appropriately, balancing autonomy with responsibility,” writes ZDNET.
2. AI Ethics Engineer
The role of this specialist is to “ensure that the output of large language and generative AI systems is truthful, harmless and useful,” explains Aatif Belal, manager of applied AI at Deloitte. “Since LLMs are prone to inventing information (hallucinating), this engineer will guide the model to produce responsible results. This involves a wide range of skills: from working with queries to selecting the model and developing a system where a human controls and validates its conclusions.”
3. Cognitive Architect
According to Emilio Salvador, VP of Strategy and Developer Relations at GitLab, the role focuses on the logic, critical thinking, and strategy that drive the actions of AI agents. A cognitive architect doesn’t code, but rather creates a “thought blueprint” that allows AI to build the right software. They analyze a business problem, translate its logic into a structured strategy (with features and metrics), and then lead a team of AI agents that independently design, code, and run the application.
4. Artificial Intelligence Psychologist
The role will be “a combination of engineer, psychologist, physicist, mathematician, mystery enthusiast, and tireless troubleshooter,” says Eric Bravik, a neuropharmacologist and CEO of The Lifted Initiative. “As models become increasingly complex and generalized, someone will need all of these skills to manage an AI subsystem that will have complex error modes that increasingly resemble behavior rather than programming.”
5. Human-AI Interface Designer
The role will be similar to “human-computer interaction professions that focus on the experiences we all have with software,” says Nayan Jain, executive director of AI at ustwo. “A Human-AI designer should have a solid background in psychology, AI fundamentals, and interfaces. This will allow them to create a new generation of experiences for mobile apps and voice systems that are far more advanced than traditional chatbots or windowed interfaces.”
6. AI Investigator
This role will include examining "black boxes" (similar to aviation ones) to interpret what may have gone wrong before the incident and suggest corrective actions.
“Models will inevitably drive life- and mission-critical systems,” said Mike Finley, CTO and co-founder of AnswerRocket. “They will be smarter and faster than humans. When that happens, inevitably, something will go wrong. There will be ‘black boxes’ for AI, recording what happened at critical moments before the error occurred so that closed-loop corrective action can be taken — and accountability assigned. Interpreting their contents to determine an effective, permanent solution will be the role of the forensic scientist. This profession, which will require humans to be ultimately accountable, will involve the use of both cutting-edge and classical models, capable of analyzing the multidimensional patterns of other models and reproducing chaotic states.”
7. Detective AI
This role will be to “solve crimes committed by AI agents,” Bravik explains. “In the near future, we will have autonomous, self-replicating AI agents that steal computing time, steal money, hijack systems, and can even cause physical harm to people or property. Law enforcement agencies, as in the case of computer crimes, will have to adapt to solve crimes committed by AI. To do this, they may even have to hire psychologists or AI criminologists.”
8. AI Interaction Designer
“As AI becomes more deeply embedded in our lives—from personal well-being to corporate productivity—we will need people to shape our experience of these interactions,” explains Profi. “We are already seeing how decision-making and automation can become more intuitive, and the next step is to design everyday touchpoints that feel natural, inspiring, and even emotional. This role combines behavioral science, UX, and psychology to develop scenarios for human-AI interactions, from waking to resting.”
9. Coach for integrating AI into life
“This professional will help people implement AI tools into their daily routines in balanced and productive ways,” explains Luis E. Romero, founder and CEO of GenStorm AI. “By combining knowledge of AI technologies with expertise in mental health and productivity, they will develop personalized strategies that increase efficiency without compromising well-being. They will help clients evaluate technology use, create a foundation for AI integration, set healthy boundaries, and use AI to gain competitive advantage while maintaining authentic human connections.”
10. Peripherals Engineer
Humans have the muscle memory to react instantly. Similar speed is becoming a must for AI-powered peripherals, from robots to cars.
“Our best AI models are becoming increasingly multi-layered, with each layer introducing delays that reduce the efficiency of real-world actions,” Finley explained. “Edge computing engineers will be the people who optimize and build systems that drive thinking and computing further down the AI stack. This role will be performed by AI, as engineering has been for over 20 years, but the actual optimization of the elements—motion, sensors, computation—that connect machines to the real world will remain a human task, at least until we connect AI to a world that is also better than us.”
11. AI Curator
This role will be especially important in healthcare, says Jeremy Shiner, founder and president of Myriad Systems. “There’s a growing need for people who can bridge the gap between the lack of context in AI and the real-world needs of medicine. This is not a doctor or a programmer; this is someone who knows how to work with AI systems, modifying input data, validating results, and ensuring that the conclusions are accountable, relevant, compliant, and understandable. To ensure AI delivers value without compromising the patient experience, they will work closely with data teams, compliance managers, and clinical staff.”
Як нейромережі бачать вільну та незалежну Україну? Тест dev.ua
