Since the beginning of the full-scale operation in Europe, 129 “drone incidents” have been documented, with Russia behind almost all of them. Which countries have the most?
From 2022 to October 2026, there were 129 drone-related incidents in Europe, affecting a total of 18 EU countries.
According to analysts' data presented during the presentation of the Drone Security Index — a methodology for assessing the preparedness of European states to drone threats — the largest number of such incidents occurred in Romania — 35, and another 23 — in Germany.
11 drone incidents occurred in Latvia, 10 in Estonia, 9 in Denmark, 8 in Lithuania and the same number in Poland, another 5 in Bulgaria and Sweden, 4 in France, 3 in Belgium and 2 in Finland. A number of other countries — the Czech Republic, Spain, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg and Slovakia — also had one drone incident each.
At the same time, as noted by the director of Sahaidachnyi Security Center, Lesya Ogryzko, these statistics are only the “tip of the iceberg,” because their statistics are based on open sources, and a number of incidents are simply not reported at all.
“We need to understand that 129 incidents are what could be found in the sources. But if you talk to intelligence representatives of other countries or representatives of state authorities, then in reality there are much more such cases. This map is the tip of the iceberg, and many countries in the world are trying to hide real information so as not to sow panic. Therefore, 129 can be multiplied by a much larger number,” explained Lesya Ogryzko.
According to her, their analytical tool currently takes into account Russian threats, but they will try to expand it to all countries of the "axis of evil."
