A 13-year-old student from Sumy developed a platform for teachers called Kwisify
Учень 8-го класу Сумської школи № 1 Макар Чалий розробив безоплатну платформу Kwisify, яка допомагає вчителям згенерувати навчальний квіз на будь-яку тему всього за 5 секунд.
Makar Chaly, an 8th grade student at Sumy School No. 1, developed a free platform called Kwisify, which helps teachers generate an educational quiz on any topic in just 5 seconds.
His passion for programming began in 2024 with an attempt to create his own game on Roblox. Makar started as an advertising manager in a team of friends, but after the sole developer left, he decided to master the code on his own.
The idea for Kwisify came about when the boy noticed how much time teachers spent preparing for lessons. The teenager created the first version of the service in May and presented it to his school's administration.
"I successfully presented, but only four teachers registered. I didn't understand this. On June 1, I made an update, but no teachers were added. I abandoned the project for two months, but then my mother helped me. She said that the interface was overloaded and incomprehensible to an ordinary person," Makar recalls in an interview for "Sospilny."
Taking advice from his mother, the developer radically redesigned the design, simplified the control panel, and removed unnecessary functionality. The updated platform was released in late October.
Makar already has a clear position regarding his own business: he does not plan to attract grants or investments yet, as he wants the product to belong entirely to him.
In addition to IT, the guy is engaged in freestyle wrestling, reads a lot, and has won singing competitions, but he calls technology his life's work, inspired by the figures of Steve Jobs and Kit Global CEO Oleksiy Fedorenko.
"I live by this. If I go to Kyiv and forget my laptop, I walk around and don't know what to do. This is my life's work," the schoolboy shares.
The teenager's immediate plans include developing an offline platform for creating educational presentations, as teachers should not be dependent on the availability of the Internet due to shelling and power outages. In the long term, Makar has even more ambitious goals: developing his own server operating system for data centers that can compete with Windows and Linux.
The schoolboy is convinced that in the future he will work only for himself and remain in Ukraine.
“It sounds strange for my age, but I want to try to develop my own server operating system… In the future, I am not going to leave my hometown, despite the danger: I was born here, I live here, I like it here,” the young IT specialist concludes.
A schoolboy from Mykolaiv created an MVP of an application to combat social media addiction. The development of the full version is estimated at $280,000
