According to the Technological Forces of Ukraine, these are the results of an April survey of 42 private companies in the defense industry. The TSU believes that this indicates an already established demand for Ukrainian defense products in foreign markets, and not a single interest in individual manufacturers.
The most frequent requests for cooperation, according to the survey participants, came from the USA. This country was named by 36% of respondents. It is followed by Germany with 29%, Denmark with 21%, the UAE with 19% and the United Kingdom with 17%. It is these directions that manufacturers consider the most promising for further work and supplies.
The companies named the export of finished products as the most priority format for international cooperation. This option was chosen by 79% of respondents. Another 64% consider the creation of joint ventures important, and 42% support the export of technologies. This shows that some Ukrainian manufacturers are already focusing not only on direct sales of products, but also on longer-term cooperation with foreign partners.
Separately, the TSU asked businesses about their main expectations from the state regarding the export of arms and technologies. Most often, companies spoke about simplifying procedures. This option was chosen by 64% of respondents. Another 50% were in favor of shortening the terms, and 42% were in favor of more transparent rules.
In fact, business is not asking for new, high-profile mechanisms, but for a faster and clearer export control system. Some companies directly indicate that even basic license approval could be sufficient if it worked predictably, without delays and unnecessary bureaucracy.
The survey shows that for Ukrainian arms manufacturers, the key problem is no longer the lack of interest from abroad, but the ability of the state system to turn this interest into real contracts and supplies in a timely manner.
Previously, dev.ua wrote about how President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine is ready to export weapons according to the formula «first the front — then partners», giving priority to countries that provide the greatest financial and military support.
