The Lyuboml District Court of the Volyn region considered the case of a programmer who attempted to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine at the Yagodyn checkpoint without proper documents. He submitted documents obtained illegally to passport control.
The offender did not appear for the hearing, but was duly notified of the date and place of the hearing, the court documents state. He sent a statement to the court asking to hear the case without his participation, while also stating that he admits his guilt, sincerely repents, and asks the court not to punish him harshly.
The programmer’s guilt is confirmed by the protocol on the administrative offense, written explanations and a receipt from the perpetrator, and copies of documents.
On April 24, the court found the IT guy guilty and sentenced him to a fine. Now the fugitive loser must pay UAH 3,400 to the budget. The programmer will also be charged UAH 605.6 in court fees for the benefit of the state.
The fine must be paid no later than fifteen days from the date of delivery of the resolution, and in the event of an appeal, no later than fifteen days from the date of notification of the dismissal of the complaint. Failure to pay the fine is grounds for the enforcement of the resolution to collect a fine in double the amount.
The resolution may be appealed to the Volyn Court of Appeal through the Lyuboml District Court within ten days from the date of its issuance.
