Google has announced that users can now connect and interact with some popular apps directly within AI Mode, the tech giant’s interactive search service. At launch, apps like Instacart, Canva, and YouTube are supported.
With this update, Google is taking AI Mode beyond simply answering questions: now the service can perform tasks in the applications that people use every day, writes TechCrunch.
The company gave a few examples of how the new AI Mode features work. If you're planning a barbecue and making a shopping list in AI Mode, you can connect your Instacart account to instantly add all the ingredients to your cart and quickly place your order in the app or on the service's website.
Or, if you’re working on a project and looking for design ideas, you can ask Canva to curate templates for you. In another example, Google shows how you can use AI Mode to put together a playlist for an upcoming party and instantly save it to YouTube Music.
The update is already rolling out to users in the US. Google says it is currently working with a number of partners and plans to expand support for other apps soon.
