Two years ago, Kyiv investigators and the Prosecutor General's Office launched a large-scale investigation into the theft of data from Ukrainian state institutions by Russian hackers. In this case, they came across an IT worker from Lutsk. According to law enforcement officers, he leaked logins and passwords, but they have not yet reported to whom and whose they were. The accused IT worker assures that he is not guilty.
This is mentioned in the story of the Lutsk TV channel "Avers".
As the lawyer reported, law enforcement officers discovered that his client, named Nazariy, was communicating online with an IT professional from Russia, against whom criminal proceedings were opened for theft and database leak.
After that, the prosecutor's office came to Luhansk to search the house. They seized the car for eight months and seized a crypto wallet with money. At the same time, during this time, the defendant was not charged with any crime.
Law enforcement officers accuse a Lutsk IT worker of unauthorized sale of restricted information via the Telegram channel.
The prosecution's evidence states that between July 29, 2023 and July 17, 2024, the suspect sent 152 files containing lists of logins and passwords to email accounts via the Telegram messenger. He also sent 36 archives and 14 files with emails from email accounts.
But the defense attorney convinced the judge that the IT guy didn't leak any personal data. The defendant himself claims that the files contained information related to programming.
Meanwhile, the prosecutor noted that malicious software was found on the computer of the man from Luhansk. However, the accused says that the virus program was not installed on the computer by him, but by an SBU officer during the investigative actions.
