Meta is testing an Instagram subscription service that offers a number of new features, including the ability to view stories without your crush or ex knowing.
The paid subscription will allow users to see how many times their stories are viewed and search for specific viewers. Other features include the ability to create «unlimited» audience lists for stories, which will allow subscribers to show certain stories to different categories of followers, Business Insider reported .
Instagram currently allows users to share stories only with all of their followers, or to limit viewing to people categorized as «close friends.» Subscription subscribers can also extend the time that users can view their stories beyond the current 24-hour limit, as well as push their story to the top of the queue of stories that followers see.
«We hope these tests will help us understand what people find most valuable in our premium feature set,» an Instagram spokesperson told Bloomberg.

Instagram is currently testing a paid subscription with new features in Mexico, Japan, and the Philippines for $1 to $2 per month.
The hidden viewing feature is likely to be a hit with parents who are concerned about their children’s safety, or with users who secretly check what their exes or boyfriends are doing but are embarrassed to be exposed by their viewing list.
Currently, a number of third-party services offer similar functionality, promising anonymous viewing of Instagram Stories without appearing on the list. If Instagram releases the feature widely, such apps could lose their audience.
