An ATO veteran who has been living in Peru for nine years has created a digital platform for psychological support for Ukrainians. How does it work?

Ukrainian ATO veteran Bohdan Tyutenko, who has been living in Peru for the past nine years, together with a team of volunteers created the psychological support platform Ansiedad Ukraine. On it, you can check your psychological state, and then get a plan of further actions and track changes. There are also separate support tools for veterans, military personnel and their loved ones.

Bohdan Tyutenko told dev.ua about the platform.

What can you do on the platform?

To check your condition, you can start with four questions about anxiety and mood. The service then offers more detailed questionnaires, including those about sleep, alcohol consumption, smoking, and smartphone addiction.

To help people move from assessing their condition to taking specific actions, the platform offers plans based on the “if… then…” principle. For example, a person who wants to quit smoking but is used to doing it after coffee can receive the following plan: when they feel like smoking again, first drink water and breathe slowly for two minutes. Afterwards, they can reassess their habits and how they feel.

Or, for example, if a person is not sleeping well, they can use the sleep efficiency calculator and indicate how many hours they spent in bed and how much they actually slept. The service will be able to calculate the indicator and offer recommendations. Also, to make it easier to fall asleep, you can turn on the sounds of rain, ocean waves or white noise and set an automatic shutdown timer.

And, as in the other example, to solve sleep problems, you can also create a step-by-step action plan depending on the survey results. For example, the service may advise waking up at the same time every day, and if sleep problems last more than three months, to consult a doctor. In particular, the platform may offer to learn more about one of the methods for solving this problem - CBT-B.

You can also contact a psychologist through the platform. The developers have created a directory of specialists whose documents are checked before publishing questionnaires. In addition, if the user decides to share the test results, he himself chooses what the specialist will see.

What is free and what does a Premium subscription give?

You can take self-tests, view results, and read materials about psychological health on the platform for free. There is also a Premium plan for $5 per month. The subscription opens up an expanded personal dashboard with results and an interactive 3D space for relaxation. For veterans, after confirming their status, Premium is promised to be provided free of charge and indefinitely. For people who cannot pay, they also provide the opportunity to get free access.

And for those who cannot afford a subscription, so-called “solidarity access” has been provided. In particular, people with low or unstable incomes, immigrants, and students without their own earnings can apply.

To do this, you need to confirm your email, select the reason for your request, briefly describe your situation, and provide supporting documents and a separate consent to their processing. The application will be reviewed by a team member within 48 hours. If approved, Premium will be opened for free for six months, and the provided documents will be deleted.

How did the idea come about and what are your plans for the future?

According to Tyutenko, the idea for the platform came about, in part, through his own experience of service, moving, and adapting to life in another country. In 2014–2015, he served in the ATO zone. After serving, he completed his studies and later moved to Peru, where he has been living for about nine years.

One reason he decided to create Ansiedad is how people are increasingly seeking psychological support from chatbots.

"One thing has long surprised me: a person can be left alone with their problems and look for answers exclusively in a chat with artificial intelligence. AI can indeed be a useful tool, but it should not replace professional help," he said.

Work on the platform began in May 2026. Volunteer programmers and other specialists joined the development. Ansiedad currently runs in a browser on computers and smartphones. Mobile applications for Android and iOS are still being developed.

The team is currently looking to gather initial feedback to understand what needs to be improved.
