Anthropic, developer of the leading artificial intelligence model Claude, has announced a massive $50 billion investment in American computing infrastructure.
The data centers are being built in collaboration with partner Fluidstack and will be fully customized to maximize the efficiency of Anthropic’s workloads. The new facilities are expected to be operational during 2026.
The project aims not only to support ongoing research and development at the forefront of AI, but also to have a significant impact on the economy:
Creation of about 800 permanent jobs.
Creation of 2,400 jobs in the construction sector.
This investment, Anthropic says, will help implement the goals outlined in the Trump administration's "AI Action Plan," aimed at maintaining American leadership in artificial intelligence.
Anthropic currently serves over 300,000 business customers. The number of large corporate customers (with annual revenues of over $100,000) has grown nearly sevenfold over the past year, necessitating this significant expansion of computing capacity.
Anthropic previously launched a new model, the Claude Sonnet 4.5 , which it says delivers the best results in coding tests. The company claims that the Claude Sonnet 4.5 can create fully-ready applications, not just prototypes.
