The Nvidia app beta update includes anisotropic filtering, anti-aliasing, and ambient occlusion, so gamers no longer have to resort to the old Nvidia app to enhance classic games. Additionally, the Nvidia Surround tweaking app will now also be part of the Nvidia app.
Nvidia has also added the ability to apply DLSS frame generation technology globally to all supported games through its app. Previously, this required fiddling with each game’s settings individually.
Previously exclusive to RTX 50-series graphics cards, Smooth Motion is now available for older RTX 40-series GPUs. NVIDIA Smooth Motion is a driver-based AI model that provides smoother gameplay by rendering an extra frame between two rendered frames for games that don’t support DLSS Frame Generation. It can be applied to games that run DLSS Super Resolution, native resolution, or even games that use other scaling technologies. The company says it typically doubles the «perceived frame rate.»
Project G-Assist, the AI gaming assistant, has also received an update that reduces video memory usage by 40%. It is an experimental AI assistant that helps gamers configure, control, and optimize their gaming PC with simple voice or text commands.
Starting August 19th, Project G-Assist will be available in the Nvidia App beta for all users with GeForce RTX GPUs with 6GB or more of VRAM, including laptop versions. Previously, Nvidia’s AI assistant required at least 12GB .
To access the beta, you need to go to the «Information» section in the Nvidia App settings and check the «Early Access» checkbox.
