Apple is preparing a smart home reboot: new gadgets will be shown on October 13

Apple is preparing new smart home devices with support for an updated Siri with artificial intelligence.

What will Apple’s home hub be like?

One of the main innovations could be HomePad or Home Hub, a smart home control device with a built-in display.

According to preliminary information, it will receive a square screen with a diagonal of about 6 inches. Apple is allegedly preparing two versions of the device: for surface installation and wall mounting.

The design is rumored to feature a built-in speaker and a display mounted on a metal base. However, the company has not yet revealed the official specifications of the device.

HomePod mini and Apple TV could get an update for the first time in years

Two other potential new products will be the HomePod mini 2 and the updated Apple TV 4K.

Apple introduced the original HomePod mini in 2020. The current generation of the Apple TV 4K set-top box was released in 2022. So the presentation could be the first major update to both devices in several years.

The new products are expected to integrate with an updated Siri, which is expected to gain AI capabilities. This could strengthen the voice assistant’s role in controlling Apple devices and services at home.

The company is to reveal detailed specifications, features, and prices of the new products during a presentation on October 13. Until then, information about the devices remains preliminary.
