Ukrainian company Dark River has presented the Apus-1 unmanned interceptor. This is a specialized solution for combating enemy kamikaze drones and reconnaissance UAVs.
The system is designed as an effective tool for countering enemy aerial reconnaissance and strike targets. The main parameters of the device:
Speed: the interceptor is capable of reaching speeds of up to 320 km/h.
Autonomy and radius: the drone can operate within a radius of up to 50 km and stay in the air for almost an hour.
Launch: A catapult is used for launch.
Navigation: Apus-1 is equipped with a surveillance camera and a digital video channel. An important feature is the ability to perform tasks in the absence of a GPS signal thanks to an autonomous navigation system.
The developers have focused on mobility and speed of deployment — two soldiers are enough to service the complex. Full preparation for launch takes less than five minutes. The drone receives data about targets from radars and other external surveillance systems. The target is destroyed by direct collision or detonation of the combat module.
The development is currently undergoing the codification procedure necessary for official approval for operation in the Defense Forces. The device is already presented on the Brave1 marketplace, and its cost is 140,000 hryvnias. In the near future, the developers plan to hold a public demonstration of the system’s capabilities.
Let us remind you that this is not the only development in the interceptor segment: the Zirka drone, capable of speeds over 340 km/h, was recently presented in Ukraine.
