"The argument 'there's nothing to switch to' no longer works." IT Ukraine explained how Ukrainian businesses should get rid of Russian software

The IT Ukraine Association sees the expansion of the «Marketplace of Digital Solutions for Business» on the «Diya.Business» portal as an effective way to gradually replace Russian software.
As reported on her LinkedIn page by the association’s CEO, Maria Shevchuk, in nine months of its operation, the marketplace has collected 219 solutions — from accounting systems and CRM to cybersecurity and e-commerce.
In addition, the platform recorded 76,500 visits and over 6,100 clicks to specific product pages.
«The argument 'there is nothing to switch to from hostile software' no longer works… In fact, this is already a response to the request of a business that wants to exit the hostile IT ecosystem, but does not know what to replace it with in a quality way,» commented Maria Shevchuk.
At the same time, according to her data, more than 70% of Ukrainian companies still use at least one software product of Russian origin, and 75% continue to work with 1 °C or BAS.
«We see that businesses are increasingly looking for comprehensive systems that combine finance, HR, sales, analytics, security, and management. The demand for ERP, CRM, and automation tools is growing, and with it, cybersecurity is becoming a mandatory component of business strategy,» the head of the association added.
Maria Shevchuk also reminded that the regulatory framework for the transition away from hostile software is currently being formed, as draft law No. 13505 «On the Prohibition of the Use and Distribution of Hostile Software Products and Hostile Information Means» has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada and is awaiting adoption.
The bill, she said, provides for a phased transition from Russian software to safe alternatives by 2030.
«For business, this means predictability, transparent rules, and a clear planning horizon. And for the market, it is a signal that the domestic market for IT solutions in Ukraine is already formed to the point of providing real choice,» she noted, urging people’s deputies to adopt this bill.
