Bitget develops initiatives to support women in blockchain by investing in education, mentorship, and partnerships

Bitget, a leading cryptocurrency exchange and Web3 company, is taking stock of the first year of its Blockchain4Her initiative. Since its launch in January 2024, the program has made significant progress in closing the gender gap in Web3 by providing women with opportunities for education, mentorship, funding, and professional networking.

In March 2024, Gracie Chen, CEO of Bitget and initiator of Blockchain4Her, was invited to speak at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW) to discuss gender equality initiatives. This participation highlighted Bitget’s global impact and role in shaping discussions on diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities in the blockchain industry.

To amplify the program’s impact, Bitget launched the Blockchain4Her Ambassador Program, engaging female leaders from the crypto community as ambassadors and change agents. These include:

  • Tess Howe is the founder of Tess Ventures;
  • Evgenia Broshevan is co-founder of Hacken;
  • Cecilia Xue is the CEO of the Morph project (Layer 2 ecosystem).

Building on their experience, the ambassador program aims to create a safe space for women where they can learn blockchain and grow in Web3.

In September 2024, Bitget participated in the SheFi Summit in Singapore, which brought together hundreds of participants from around the world. The event also hosted the first Blockchain4Her Awards, which recognized five outstanding women for their contributions to the blockchain industry.

Bitget paid special attention to the Southeast Asia region by organizing the Southeast Asia Blockchain4Her Awards, where the awards were received by:

  • Jenny Nguyen (Nguyen Ngoc Son Quynh);
  • Bea Llana;
  • Teresa Tjandrauinata;
  • Cheryl Lo — for their innovative solutions in the cryptosphere.

A separate award, the «Innovative Web3 Female Entrepreneur Award — SEA edition», was received by Tasha Punyaneramitdi.

Gracie Chen, CEO of Bitget, emphasized: «At Bitget, we believe that innovation thrives when diversity leads. Blockchain4Her is not just a program, but a movement. We are committed to providing women with education, mentorship, and opportunities to participate in and lead the Web3 revolution. The future of blockchain is inclusive, and together we are creating it.»

In 2024, Bitget also launched «Pitch n Slay,» a funding and support program for female entrepreneurs. The final round took place in November 2024 in Bangkok, where female startups competed for $100,000 from Foresight Ventures.

Winners:

  • Anna Bekh, founder of Art3mis (AI oracle for Tarot fortune telling) — 3rd place.
  • Doris Hernandez, co-founder of Functor Network (automated layer for AI agents) — 2nd place.
  • Yulia Baynyaksina, founder of MiniMe (AI agent as a service) — 1st place.

Over the past year, Blockchain4Her has achieved significant success: $50,000 allocated to support women’s projects, 9 women received Blockchain4Her Awards, 10+ international meetups that gathered 1,000+ participants, and global media coverage that strengthened the impact of the initiative.

In 2025, Bitget will continue to develop initiatives to support women in blockchain by investing in education, mentorship, and partnerships. The company is committed to creating an inclusive Web3 ecosystem where women can lead, innovate, and shape the future of blockchain.

Reaffirming its commitment to empowering women in blockchain, Bitget introduces the Blockchain4Her (B4H) token.

This badge is a call to action to raise awareness about gender equality and bring more women into the blockchain industry. It reflects Bitget’s commitment to inclusivity and highlights the contributions of the women it works with. Going forward, the initiative will continue to inspire, support, and empower women in the blockchain space.

The icon is inspired by the Romanian tradition of Mǎrțișor. The red and white thread attached to the small symbol represents the arrival of spring, hope, renewal, and new beginnings. This resonates with the mission of Blockchain4Her and the spirit of International Women’s Day.
The badge will be available at all future B4H events, as well as for Blockchain4Her Awards nominees. The first event where Bitget distributed badges to female participants was the Crypto Expo in Romania.

In addition to the Blockchain4Her badge, Bitget is also announcing the launch of the Blockchain4Her mentorship program. Building on the success of the B4H Ambassadors program, the new initiative will connect women who want to grow in Web3 with experienced mentors. Mentors will include B4H Ambassadors and Blockchain4Her award winners.

Gracie Chen, CEO of Bitget, emphasized the importance of the initiative: «This badge is not just a symbol. It represents the mindset we aim to spread, inspiring others to realize the importance of gender equality. Visibility creates power, and when our efforts are seen and recognized, their impact is multiplied. This badge embodies change, progress, and inclusivity, reflecting Bitget’s continued commitment to creating a truly diverse Web3 ecosystem. It is just a small symbol of a huge movement that is just beginning.»

Bitget will continue to collaborate with top female industry leaders, expand its network of professional events, and support an inclusive Web3 community, giving women a platform for growth, leadership, and innovation.
