BlueBird Tech Academy launches Stop the Bleed courses for civilians. They will teach how to stop massive bleeding

BlueBird Tech Academy launches two practical first aid courses for civilians — Stop the Bleed and Stop the Bleed Advanced. Participants will be taught how to stop massive bleeding and act in the first minutes after an injury.

Training will start on August 11 in Odessa. In the future, the academy plans to hold courses in Kyiv and separately develop programs for corporate clients.

According to BlueBird Tech Academy, the program is based on the international Stop the Bleed, developed by the American College of Surgeons. The course is primarily focused on practice: participants repeatedly practice skills that may be needed before the arrival of professional doctors.

The basic course will teach participants how to assess the safety of the scene, recognize massive bleeding, and apply tourniquets. The practical part is conducted with training equipment, including practicing the use of CAT and SICH.

Stop the Bleed is designed for people without prior special training. The class lasts 4 hours and includes theoretical and practical parts, a coffee break, and a certificate.

For those who already have basic skills, Stop the Bleed Advanced is available. It lasts 6 hours and involves working with a wider range of tourniquets — CAT, SICH, SOFTT, SAM, TMT and RMT. Participants will also practice wound packing and applying bandages using artificial blood.

A separate block is simulation of situations close to real ones. During training, noise stimuli and physical activity are used so that participants can practice algorithms under controlled stress.

«In a critical situation, it is important not only to have a first aid kit, but also to know how to use it correctly, because during massive bleeding, time flies by in seconds. Our goal is to ensure that a person does not get confused at a time when the lives of others may depend on their actions,» BlueBird Tech Academy notes.

Classes are held in small groups — up to 10 participants per instructor. According to the academy, instructors are certified in pre-hospital and tactical medicine under the STB, BLS, ITLS, and CLS programs.

The cost of the basic Stop the Bleed is 1400 UAH, the extended Stop the Bleed Advanced is 1600 UAH. Participation is available to people over 18 years old.

The first course will be held on August 11, 2026 in Odessa. In the future, the academy plans to expand the geography of training.
