The Browser Company, which last year discontinued development of its Arc web browser, has announced the early access release of its new project, the AI browser Dia. What it can do.
The Browser Company CEO Josh Miller recently said that people are using artificial intelligence tools to perform a variety of tasks, and Dia is a reflection of this trend, TechCrunch reports .
The company’s goal is to provide people with an easy way to use artificial intelligence, eliminating the need for them to visit websites for tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude.
Dia is based on Chromium, Google’s open-source browser project, so it looks familiar to many users. The browser’s main feature is artificial intelligence. In addition to the ability to enter website names and search queries, Dia’s address bar serves as an interface for a built-in artificial intelligence chatbot.
The bot can search the web, summarize downloaded files, and automatically switch between chat and search features. Users can also ask questions about all open tabs, and the bot can even draft a topic based on the content of those tabs. The browser also has a «History» feature that can be turned on if desired — it allows the AI to use seven days of browsing history as context for answering queries.
Another feature called «Skills» allows you to create small snippets of code that act as shortcuts for various settings. For example, a user can ask the browser to create a reading layout and it will write the appropriate code.
AI chatbots in browsers aren’t exactly new. Several browser companies have integrated AI tools into their interfaces—Opera Neon, for example, lets users use an AI agent to create mini-apps or perform tasks on their behalf, and Google is also adding AI-powered features to Chrome. But Dia is one of the first browsers to make AI its core.

To try Dia in action, you can sign up for a waiting list on the project’s website. The Browser Company says that all current Arc users will immediately get access to the new browser and will be able to send invites to other users.
