Brave1 launches grants of up to UAH 8 million for defense component manufacturers

The Brave1 defense technology platform is opening a separate grant program for Ukrainian companies that create components for UAVs, NRCs, electronic warfare, and other equipment. Manufacturers will be able to attract up to UAH 8 million for testing, solution development, and preparation for mass production.
According to the Ministry of Digital, priority in the selection will be given to developments in twenty areas, coordinated with the Ministry of Defense, manufacturers and combat units. These include engines and drives, propulsive elements for NRCs and drones, on-board computers, controllers, navigation sensors and obstacle avoidance systems, communication equipment and channel aggregators, thermal and optical cameras with suspensions, as well as other high-tech electronics, without which modern drones and robotic complexes are impossible.
The grants are designed to close the shortage of domestic components that arose after Ukraine formed its own markets for UAVs, ground robotic platforms, and electronic warfare systems over the course of several years. Now the demand is shifting from ready-made "hulls" to Ukrainian engines, propellers, sensors, and communication modules. Brave1 offers financing at various stages of product readiness: from testing the idea and laboratory samples to creating prototypes and combat tests. For grants up to UAH 4 million, field tests are provided, and the largest packages up to UAH 8 million should be completed with combat testing and transfer of equipment to military units.
Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov explains that the strategic goal of the program is to make Ukraine independent of imports of critical components and, over time, turn it into a component base for partners. In parallel, the Brave1 team will work on changes to the regulatory framework and build stable chains of interaction between component manufacturers and those who assemble final samples of equipment for the front.
A separate emphasis is placed on integration with the Brave1 Market, where the military will soon be able to purchase components for electronic points awarded for confirmed enemy kills. The updated Brave1 grant architecture, approved in August 2025 by the Innovation Development Fund, provides for clear technological priorities, an accelerated decision-making procedure (approximately one and a half months instead of three), and a flexible approach to the size of support.
Previously, dev.ua wrote about how the Brave1 defense cluster launched a €3.3 million program , funded by our EU partners. Thanks to this, Ukrainian miltech manufacturers will be able to receive grants for the development of interceptor drones and radars.
