OpenAI has launched ChatGPT for Financial Services, a special version of ChatGPT for banks, investment firms, and financial analysts. It already has professional financial databases built in, and the service itself runs on the new GPT-6 Astra model.
The new product is built on ChatGPT Work. It will help finance teams research companies, build financial models, and prepare materials for clients.
One of the main differences from regular ChatGPT is access to specialized financial databases right inside the service. ChatGPT for Financial Services has integrated data from Daloopa, PitchBook, LSEG News, and Crunchbase. These include company financial statements, investor call transcripts, information about private companies, funding rounds, and deals.
So the analyst doesn't have to separately find the right number, transfer it to ChatGPT and ask the model to do something with it. The system can find information in the financial sources available to it, and then show where it got specific numbers or statements from. OpenAI is also working on integrations with S&P Capital IQ, LSEG, MSCI, Dow Jones Factiva and Moody's. The idea is that companies can use ChatGPT to access the databases they already pay for.
Companies can also upload their own Excel, Word, and PowerPoint templates and corporate design rules. ChatGPT can then, for example, transform the analysis into a financial model, analytical note, or client presentation in the format used by a specific company.
OpenAI specifically emphasizes the protection of corporate information. By default, company data is not used to train models, and administrators can control employee access, information retention periods, and activity logs.
At the same time, OpenAI separately warns that the service is intended for research and analysis, and its answers do not constitute financial or investment advice. The data may also contain errors or be outdated.
ChatGPT for Financial Services is currently only available to financial institutions that meet OpenAI's requirements. The company does not disclose a public pricing plan — you must contact the sales department to connect.
Earlier, dev.ua wrote that Anthropic is also entering the financial sector. In May, the company introduced AI agents for banks, insurance and investment companies that can analyze financial statements and prepare materials for clients.
