The development of the function was partly responsible for the team at the startup Hiro, which OpenAI acquired in April 2026. The company emphasizes that the current GPT-5.5 model operates much better in financial context compared to previous iterations, which allows the bot to answer complex queries more accurately.
Users can ask the bot questions about their own budget, such as: «Help me make a plan so I can be ready to buy a house in my neighborhood within the next 5 years.» The tool is accessed through a separate «Finances» option in the sidebar or using the @Finances command in the chat.
The developers plan to integrate with the Intuit service, which will allow you to assess the tax consequences of selling shares or the likelihood of loan approval. The issue of privacy is regulated through settings: synchronized data is automatically deleted from the system 30 days after the service is disabled.
