Content recommendations and generated tests — Fedorov talked about the integration of AI into the educational application "Mriya"

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov described new features that will appear in the educational application «Mriya». Some of them use the capabilities of artificial intelligence, in particular, in the generation of tests based on teachers' material.
«We integrate artificial intelligence into almost every one of our projects. „Mriya“ is no exception», — Fedorov noted in a column for Channel 24.
According to him, in May, the application will integrate AI recommendations that will resemble YouTube’s algorithms, but «with a focus on child development.» The system will recommend content, taking into account the child’s results in school, as well as their interests.
What the child views, saves, and likes will be taken into account. This will influence recommendations, so Mriya will offer children content and relevant materials that will help them develop with a focus on their own interests.
«We have also already developed and are implementing a test generation function: with the help of AI, teachers will be able to generate tests in a few clicks, rather than creating them manually in Google Forms or Microsoft Word, searching the Internet, or asking colleagues,» the head of the Ministry of Digital Affairs said.
He explained that AI will use data from lesson details, textbook materials, and methodological approaches to creating tests, and will also be able to generate tests based on teachers' personal experiences.
In his post, Mikhail Fedorov also mentioned a new upcoming feature that will improve the electronic journal for teachers — automated grading. Based on the received grades, the system will automatically suggest student scores, and the teacher will be able to assign them to the entire class in one click if he agrees with the calculation.
In addition, Fedorov reported that «Mriya» for preschools is under development. According to him, this is a solution that will provide teachers with ready-made materials and automated planning, administrations with full analytics and paperless accounting, and parents with «transparency and a sense of peace for their children.»
The «Dreams» pilot for preschoolers will start in 2025, and starting next year it will begin to be scaled up to all kindergartens that want to join the initiative.
Recall that last week, at the EdTech event of the Ministry of Digital and Education of Ukraine, the free educational digital ecosystem «Mriya» was presented, which after the completion of beta testing was expanded to the entire country. dev.ua told what is known about the system, who has already connected to the «Mriya» network, and what ambitious plans the developers have set for the number of connections.
It was later revealed that Mriya would feature gamification elements reminiscent of the language learning app Duolingo. Students would also be able to earn points for watching educational videos and taking quizzes.
«If all teachers in our schools start giving grades at the same time, it will be compatible with a very serious DDoS attack.» What is known about the educational application «Mriya», which was launched throughout Ukraine
