"Sometimes yesterday's TikTokers or players in Tanks become artillerymen." Ukrainian ComBat Vision creates a simulator for artillerymen with gamification

The Ukrainian ComBat Vision project team has created a new tool designed to simplify and accelerate the training of military personnel to work with indirect weapons. The plugin integrates gamification elements into the process of artillery combat and training adjustments.
The developers explain the need for such a decision by changing the level of training of specialists who join the ranks of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
"The quality of specialists entering the army is rapidly declining. Yesterday’s TikTokers or Tank players sometimes become artillerymen," ComBat Vision notes.
To calculate ballistics, the new plugin uses the algorithms of the MyGun application from UkropSoft developer Yaroslav Sherstyuk. The tool visualizes the firing and aiming process as clearly as possible: it depicts the trajectory of the projectile based on the firing tables of the corresponding weapon, as well as the dispersion ellipse for a specific type of ammunition. This allows the operator to assess in advance the probability of hitting the target and the possible deviation.
In addition, the system warns the user about possible obstacles on the calculated trajectory and simulates the flight of the projectile after firing according to the characteristics of the selected charge. A training error is added to the calculations, which allows you to train aiming skills.
The module is also capable of displaying real or simulated gaps, automatically calculating the average correction for a series of hits, and accepting corrections using voice commands with instant display of the result on the screen.
ComBat Vision is a Ukrainian combat control and drone video stream analysis system that is actively used by the Ukrainian Defense Forces to detect occupiers' equipment and manpower and promptly transmit artillery coordinates.
