Medical deep-tech: Polish Synektik enters Ukraine and plans to install 20 da Vinci surgical robots
Synektik, a well-known Polish company specializing in high-tech medical solutions and listed on the stock exchange, has officially announced its entry into the Ukrainian market.
Synektik, a well-known Polish company specializing in high-tech medical solutions and listed on the stock exchange, has officially announced its entry into the Ukrainian market.
The company’s main ambition is to install about 20 da Vinci robotic surgical systems in Ukrainian clinics over the next two years. dev.ua learned about this from the company’s announcement.
Recall that the first da Vinci robot in Ukraine appeared in Vinnytsia in 2019. At that time, only a few doctors from the city (and one more from Kyiv) could perform operations on it.
Expansion during wartime: how to make a deal
Synektik’s expansion into Ukraine was made possible thanks to a strategic agreement that the company quietly signed back in February 2026 with the American giant Intuitive Surgical, the direct developer and manufacturer of the iconic da Vinci robots.
This document expanded the geography of Synektik’s exclusive distribution to the Ukrainian market. Before that, the company had already built a network in Europe:
Since 2018, it has been an exclusive partner of Intuitive in Poland.
Since 2022, official distributor in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Since 2024, it covers the markets of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia.
Now it’s Ukraine’s turn, which the company sees as a huge potential market.
By the way, on May 8, the Poles registered a subsidiary in Ukraine — Synektik Ukraine LLC with an authorized capital of UAH 103,229.
Why Ukraine? Market assessment from Synektik CEO
According to Synektik CEO Cezary Kozanecki, the decision to enter the Ukrainian market is a completely natural step for the company, despite the military risks.
«For us, Ukraine is another large and logical market. If we exclude the temporarily occupied territories, that is, if we talk about the area where it is realistic to do business today, the country has almost 30 million inhabitants. This makes it quite comparable to Poland,» said Cezary Kozanetsky.
The head of the company emphasized that the level of penetration of robotic surgery in Ukraine is still at an early stage, but the demand for such technologies is enormous.
«At the same time, we are entering the market at a time when discussions about whether robot-assisted surgery is needed at all have long been closed. We are already receiving Ukrainian doctors in Poland who want to get acquainted with our systems and gain first-hand experience. For us, this is a powerful signal that the market is completely ready,» the CEO added.
What’s next?
Starting with da Vinci surgical robots is just the first step. Synektik notes that their ultimate goal is to fully deploy their entire portfolio of medical and IT technologies for healthcare in Ukraine.
