Ukrainian company Stetman and Danish nanosatellite manufacturer GomSpace have agreed on cooperation.
The agreement was signed during the Ukraine Business Summit 2026 in Kyiv. European Commissioner Marta Kos announced the start of the partnership during her address to the summit participants, reports Militarny.
According to available information, the parties are already working on creating a joint venture that will be based in Ukraine. Its focus is the development of satellite technologies and participation in large-scale space projects.
GomSpace specializes in the development and production of small spacecraft, in particular nanosatellites, which are actively used in communication and defense systems.
It was previously reported that GomSpace will manufacture communication satellites for Ukraine within the framework of the UASAT LEO program.
This is part of a larger initiative to create a national satellite infrastructure — for both civilian and defense needs.
The first satellite is planned to be launched into orbit in October 2026. The launch will take place using a SpaceX rocket.
In the longer term, the project looks much larger: by 2027, they plan to launch 120 satellites into orbit, and after that, launch another 100–105 devices each year.
