Estonian-Ukrainian defense company DoD Solution has announced a strategic partnership with European AI hardware developer Axelera AI. They will work on a new generation of on-board AI computers for autonomous defense systems, including high-speed drone interceptors.
This was reported to dev.ua by the DoD Solution press service. The partnership should solve the problem of autonomous systems — the lack of computing resources directly on board drones. In the absence of GPS and the active use of electronic warfare, data transmission to external servers becomes impossible, so all calculations must take place inside the device.
As part of the collaboration, DoD Solution will integrate the Axelera AI Metis M.2 accelerator into its AURA AI architecture. This will allow the devices to process sensor data, recognize and track targets, and perform autonomous guidance in milliseconds. In the future, the developed technologies will be used in other autonomous defense complexes.
«The future of autonomy will be determined not only by more advanced algorithms, but also by the computing power available directly on board,» said Roman Gapachilo, CEO of DoD Solution.
At the end of July, DoD Solution announced a strategic partnership with Lantronix. The integration of Lantronix’s turnkey solution into the AURA SBC on-board computer will significantly reduce deployment times and develop the capabilities of next-generation drones for the European market and partner country markets.
