The newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, is guarded by robot dogs Spot, writes the BBC.
They patrol the private villa "Mar-a-Lago" in Palm Beach (Florida), owned by Donald Trump.
The robot dog was developed by Boston Dynamics. They are unarmed and can be controlled remotely with a joystick. Robotops patrol the area automatically if they have a route programmed in advance. On the feet of the robot there is a warning inscription: "Do not stroke."
The US Secret Service did not directly answer the publication's questions about the use of Spot robot dogs in Trump's security. At the same time, Boston Dynamics confirmed that the Secret Service uses their development.
Robotic dogs are already more often used by military organizations and law enforcement officers, because they are able to control a much larger area than humans.
Spot can walk up stairs, move in tight spaces and can open doors. The ability to detect threats is one of the main reasons why they are willing to pay up to $75,000 for it. Robops are equipped with advanced sensors and cameras that create a 3D map of the environment.
