DOT-Chain Defence delivered 5,600 drones in a month and reduced the supply cycle by five times
In the first month of operation, the DOT-Chain Defence marketplace provided 5,600 UAVs to the front with a total value of UAH 216 million. The average delivery time is up to two weeks, and the fastest delivery took five days from the request to receipt by the unit.
In the first month of operation, the DOT-Chain Defence marketplace provided 5,600 UAVs to the front with a total value of UAH 216 million. The average delivery time is up to two weeks, and the fastest delivery took five days from the request to receipt by the unit.
The results were reported by the State Agency for Defense Procurement. The project involves 12 brigades in the Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Kherson and Kharkiv directions. The catalog includes 151 models from 25 manufacturers. In addition to the FPV, the system has already been supplemented with bombers, in particular heavy ones, which the front received within twelve days.
DOT-Chain Defence works according to the logic of a regular online store: the military forms baskets of the necessary platforms and kits, and the Defense Procurement Agency provides financing. This approach has significantly accelerated the procurement cycle. According to the results of the pilot, it was reduced by more than five times: instead of several months, units wait weeks. A separate effect is provided by competition between manufacturers, because units compare technical characteristics and deadlines, and do not depend on one supplier.
The volume of orders is growing. The military has already issued more than 11 thousand drones for almost 397 million UAH. The AOZ and DOT team conducted field trips to the combat zone to check the operation of the processes and collect wishes regarding the functionality. The next stage involves scaling for new brigades and expanding the nomenclature. The plans include adding other types of UAVs, electronic warfare and electronic warfare equipment, ground robotic platforms, and drop kits.
Demand for FPV and bombers remains consistently high, so the key challenge will be not only the speed of procurement, but also the ability of the platform to support a wide range of configurations, guarantee service and repair, and integrate with other supply channels. If the stated pace and transparency are maintained, DOT-Chain Defence could become a permanent mechanism that relieves bureaucracy and allows units to receive the necessary equipment on real combat terms.
Earlier, dev.ua wrote about how the Ministry of Defense announced that the military has gained access to a wider range of drones in the defense procurement system DOT-Chain Defence. Thanks to the new contracts, the list of manufacturers in the marketplace has grown to 20 companies.
