«Since June 2023, the Unified Register of Weapons and the electronic office of the owner of weapons have been in effect, which has significantly simplified the submission of documents for obtaining or extending permits for citizens. In the near future, the corresponding option will appear in the Diia application, which will enable people to have all the necessary permits with them, as well as receive reminders about the expiration of the permit for weapons», — said Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Bohdan Drapyatyi in an interview at ZN.ua.
At the same time, he said, the digitalization of gun ownership services may provide other, much more extensive options for owners.
«The survey we conducted among users of the electronic cabinet showed that citizens would like to see a map with shooting ranges and shooting ranges, weapon repair workshops, and weapon shops in its functionality. There is a high demand for continued digitization of services, and therefore it is our undisputed priority», — he added.
We will remind that the first appearance of a weapon permit in Diia was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
After that, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Leonid Tymchenko noted that by the end of January 2025, the electronic permit for registered weapons with a QR code for verification, as well as information about it, will be displayed in the «Diia» service, but not for all owners at once.
