The Armed Forces of Ukraine adopted the "Volynyaka" hexacopter, which can hit armored targets

The Ministry of Defense has codified and approved for operation in the Armed Forces of Ukraine the domestic unmanned aviation complex «Volynyaka». This is a bomber hexacopter designed to destroy various targets.

«The first modifications of this „bomber“ have been operating at the front since the first months of the large-scale war. They have destroyed hundreds of enemy military equipment, dugouts, and enemy force concentrations. They are capable of performing combat missions in any weather, at dusk, and in strong winds. The latest versions have significantly improved characteristics», — the Ministry of Defense reported.

It is noted that the complex consists of a control panel, pilot’s goggles, a repeater and a reusable hexacopter equipped with six powerful brushless motors. The drone is designed to transport cargo in difficult combat conditions and can drop powerful ammunition on enemy targets, capable of destroying heavily armored targets. «Volynyaka» can also perform logistical tasks and deliver necessary equipment to positions.

This hexocopter was created by the Sky of Victory charity foundation. For the Volynyaki, engineers developed their own frame, which, when folded, does not take up much space for transportation.

«Volynyaka» has the following characteristics:

  • Folding carbon frame 1300×600 mm.
  • Flight range is 30 km.
  • Payload — 10 kg.
  • Deployment time — 20 minutes.
  • 60,000 mAh battery.
  • FLIR640×480 thermal imaging camera.
  • Gremsy Mio camera stabilizer.
  • Brushless motors.

«A unique multi-channel communication system — which allows you to effectively work under enemy electronic warfare, a modern thermal imaging camera, as well as a unique drop system that allows you to use up to 80% of all types of BCs in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine» — describe the advantages of the drone in «The Sky of Victory.»

In addition to the «Volynyaki», the foundation produces the 8-inch FPV drone «Thunder» and its more powerful version — the 10-inch FPV drone «Gromylo», as well as their modifications with fiber optics. «Sky of Victory» has a production area of 2,200 sq.m. and can produce up to 200,000 UAVs per year.
