"General Chereshnya" showed off a new reconnaissance drone, Sweetheart. It is resistant to electronic warfare and six times cheaper than its counterparts

Ukrainian drone manufacturer General Chereshnya has introduced a new Sweetheart reconnaissance drone designed to conduct reconnaissance operations behind enemy lines. According to the developers, the new UAV has increased resistance to electronic warfare (EW) equipment, can operate at a distance of up to 150 km and costs about six times less than most similar reconnaissance complexes.

According to the manufacturer, Sweetheart was created in collaboration with combat units, which formed technical requirements based on experience using drones on the front.

One of the features of the new complex is maximum mobility. The drone does not require catapults or special launchers to launch — it starts with a simple throw from the hand.

The weight of the device is about 4 kg with a wingspan of 1.7 m. The drone is capable of staying in the air for up to three hours and performing missions at a distance of up to 150 km.

Sweetheart is equipped with digital video communication, a rotating camera with zoom and a laser rangefinder. The developers placed special emphasis on protecting communication channels from enemy electronic warfare (EW) equipment.

The company also claims that after climbing 50–70 meters, the drone is virtually impossible to hear from the ground, making it difficult to detect.

«The military will not be afraid of losing the board»

According to the company’s co-founder Yaroslav Hryshyn, the key advantage of the new complex should be its cost.

«The estimated price of the complex will be approximately six times lower than most existing reconnaissance aircraft of this class. At this cost, the military will not be afraid of losing the aircraft, and in some cases will be able to deliberately send it in one direction in order to obtain critically important intelligence information,» he noted.

According to the developers, this could change the approach to using reconnaissance drones, which are traditionally expensive and relatively scarce systems.

Sweetheart is currently undergoing combat testing in units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Serial deliveries are expected to begin in the fall of 2026.
