Ukrainian company IRV has created a ground-based drone called «Karakurt» for remotely launching six FPV drones. What are the advantages of this combination?
According to Mezha.Media, the Karakurt has two guides on the hull, each of which can accommodate three drones. The NRC allows for the safe transport of drones for remote launch from the location of the operators. The Karakurt can wait for a long time in dangerous areas and be activated after detecting enemy targets.
The drone carrier has a built-in repeater, which allows you to increase the range of drones. It can also launch an air station. This ensures the operation of drones at a distance of up to 30 km. «Karakurt» can be controlled at a distance of up to 4 km from the communication station.
Currently, the Karakurt carries 13-inch drones, but there is already a solution that allows the platform to launch reusable bomber drones. After completing the mission, they will have to return to their positions, as the landing system on the NRK is still under development. IRV is also working on integrating drones on a 15-inch frame into the complex.
The company said that the price of one «Karakurt» is about 2 million hryvnias, of which about half falls on 12 drones, repeaters and software. In the future, IRV plans to implement the function of controlling a swarm of drones.
Recall that last month, the company «NoviTechNet», which is part of the Association of Ukrainian Engineers, developed and began field testing the river surface drone «Ursula». One of its features is the transportation and launch of FPV drones directly from the water.
