Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Russian army was preparing a major offensive operation, which was to begin at the end of 2025 and continue in the spring. The occupiers' plans were thwarted, in particular, thanks to drone technology.
Zelenskyy said this in an interview with CNN. According to him, the Defense Forces conducted their own counteroffensive actions to prevent a large-scale Russian offensive.
«It was a success not only because of the territory, but also because of our people, and because we prevented a large-scale Russian offensive. All this was largely made possible by our drone technology. Russia began to lose 30,000-35,000 soldiers every month due to drones — FPV and other types of drones,» the President of Ukraine said.
Analysts note that last month — for the first time since the summer of 2024 — Ukrainian troops regained more territory than they lost, capturing several hundred square kilometers on the southern front.
Zelenskyy said that the Russians «are not conducting any large-scale operations, although in various areas of the front they continue to try to act, using infiltration tactics and constant attacks.»
He added that the Russians' plans are to mobilize 400,000 people per year, but «our plan is to have at least 400,000 of them destroyed every year.»
