Two key Russian satellite communication providers are “no longer in touch”: Ukrainian hackers attacked Tricolor and Gazprom Space Systems

The IT Army of Ukraine launched a DDoS attack on key players in the Russian satellite communications market - Tricolor and Gazprom Space Systems.

First, on February 4, the Ukrainian hacktivist community "put down" Gazprom Space Systems (GKS), which is called the Russian Starlink. This is a subsidiary of PJSC Gazprom, which acts as a satellite communications operator, owns its own Yamal series satellites, and provides satellite television, broadband Internet (up to 100 Mbps), and geomonitoring services.

The next day, February 5, the IT Army of Ukraine reported a successful attack on Tricolor. This is the largest Russian multi-platform digital operator, providing satellite TV services (over 12 million subscribers), online cinema, a smart home system and satellite Internet. Broadcasting is carried out throughout the territory of the Russian Federation from the Eutelsat 36B/Express-AMU1 and Express AT1 satellites.

Recall that in September, the Ukrainian IT ARMY carried out a DDoS attack on a Moscow internet provider . Hacktivists, together with the GUR, also suspended the work of six of the largest internet providers in Moscow and St. Petersburg for several days. Some "victims" say they suffered losses of $200,000.
