The effectiveness of shooting down "Shaheeds" by Ukrainian interceptor drones has doubled

Ukraine has doubled its rate of intercepting enemy Shahed drones using specialized interceptor drones. This was made possible by the active deployment of the so-called «small» air defense system and the scaling of Ukrainian technologies.
This was stated by Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov during a meeting with journalists, DOU reports .
According to him, Russia continues to increase the pace of air terror: the number of «shaheeds» launched by the enemy every month is growing by an average of 35%. In these conditions, the use of drones to counter other UAVs is an economically and technically advantageous solution. Over the past four months, the supply of interceptor drones to the army has increased 2.6 times.
«We continue to develop the „small“ air defense system, thanks to which the level of interception of Shahed aircraft has significantly improved. The percentage of Shahed aircraft shot down by interceptor drones has doubled over the past 4 months. This is a cheaper, faster and more scalable response to Russia’s massive attacks,» the Minister of Defense emphasized.
Currently, the strategic goal of the defense department is to achieve a stable rate of 95% interception of all enemy air targets. To improve effectiveness after each massive attack, the Ministry of Defense, together with the Air Force and military specialists, conducts the so-called after-action review. This is a detailed technical analysis of the routes of missiles and drones, analysis of interception points, as well as a thorough study of the reasons why individual air targets managed to bypass defenses.
At the briefing, Mykhailo Fedorov also said that Ukrainian specialists have already found a solution for cheap missiles to shoot down enemy drones and have begun testing them. They are at a stage close to readiness.
