Former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo joins Fire Point's supervisory board

Former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has joined the advisory board of Fire Point, a well-known Ukrainian company that produces long-range Flamingo missiles, which was also affected by the corruption scandal surrounding Timur Mindich.
Fire Point created an advisory board and appointed Pompeo as a member on November 12, company management told the American news agency Associated Press (AP).
Recall that in 2023, Mike Pompeo joined the Board of Directors of Kyivstar as an independent non-executive director.
“This is a great honor for us,” said Irina Terek, Fire Point’s CTO. “We decided that as we were becoming a large international company, we had to ensure that we adhered to the clearest and best corporate standards.”
Three more people will join the board, she noted. “We are growing as a company, and we want to have a wise advisory board to help us get this thing going,” Terek said.
An anti-corruption investigation launched by the NABU into the company's overpricing of UAV components and the number of drones in Ministry of Defense contracts has been ongoing for over a year. Now, potential links between the company and Mindich have been added to all this.
According to Terek, to dispel the doubts of NABU investigators, Fire Point commissioned a large international firm to conduct an independent audit of its pricing and production. “We will wait for the results,” she said.
Little-known before the full-scale invasion, Fire Point is now booming, reporting nearly $1 billion in revenue this year. The company is also building a plant in Denmark to make critical rocket fuel.
Fire Point is registered to Yegor Skaliga, who is connected to the entertainment industry, like Mindich.
The company's founder, Denis Shtilerman, told the AP that he is the majority owner, while Skaliga owns 2%. He said he has met with Mindich several times, but the company denies any ties the business owner has to their company.
