This was announced by Danylo Hetmantsev, chairman of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy, on his Telegram channel.
Compared to May 2025, when foreign exchange earnings from IT exports amounted to $545 million, this year’s May figure increased by $15 million (or 2,8%). Overall, during the first five months of 2026, the industry’s export earnings fluctuated. If in January they amounted to $508 million, then in February they increased to $544 million, in March they reached a peak of $592 million, after which a decline began — first to $578 million in April, and then to $560 million in May.
Despite these fluctuations, the overall trend for the first five months of 2026 remains positive. In the period from January to May, IT exports reached $2.782 billion, which is $98 million (or 3,7%) more than in the same period last year, when the volume of such services amounted to $2.684 billion.
The main partner of Ukraine in the direction of export of computer services remains the USA, where in May services worth $208 million were sent. The top ten largest consumers of Ukrainian IT also included the United Kingdom ($47 million), Malta ($43 million), Cyprus ($34 million), Poland ($22 million), Switzerland ($21 million), Estonia ($21 million), UAE ($20 million), Israel ($19 million) and Germany ($17 million).
At the same time, the share of computer services in the overall structure of Ukrainian exports has been decreasing year-on-year. It currently stands at 39,4%, while a year earlier this figure was at 42,1% (a drop of 2.7 percentage points).
«Even in conditions of war and an extremely difficult economy, the IT industry is able to gradually increase the export of services and products abroad,» Danylo Hetmantsev commented on the situation.
