The Trump Organization’s new mobile project will include call centers located in the United States and phones made in America, Reuters reports.
«We are going to introduce a whole package of products where people can get telemedicine on their phones for a fixed monthly fee, roadside assistance for their cars, unlimited text messaging in 100 countries around the world», — said the president’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr.
The Trump family, long known for its real estate empire, luxury hotels and golf resorts, has in recent years launched new projects, including in the fields of digital media and cryptocurrency. The Trump Organization, which is the main holding company for most of the US president’s business projects, said before Trump’s inauguration that control of the company would be transferred to his children. This is a promise that was made during his first term as president, but concerns about potential conflicts of interest still remain in the US.
The Trump Mobile Initiative uses the «Trump» brand under a trademark license, similar to other Trump-branded businesses where it is licensed to third parties. Accordingly, the Trump Organization is not involved in the development of the smartphone, its manufacture, or the provision of mobile services.
Trump Mobile is launching a single plan called «The 47 Plan» for $47.45 per month, which the company says offers the same amount of service as the three largest U.S. carriers Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile, which together control more than 95% of the wireless market. The plan is a nod to Trump, who served as the 45th president of the United States during his previous term and is now the 47th president. The plan will work with existing phones, the company said, but it will also sell the T1 phone for $499 in gold.
The Verge notes that few details are known about the «Trump Phone» at the moment. The smartphone’s page contains an image that is clearly Photoshopped — it shows the phone with a matte gold finish, the «T1» logo, and the US flag on the back. The arrangement of the three cameras is similar to the latest iPhone Pro models, but the lenses are placed strangely, and, apparently, there is no flash.
The page has numerous errors: the processor section does not specify its type, RAM is described as storage memory, and a «5000 mAh long-life camera» is mentioned, although the battery is likely meant.
The chipset is not specified, but it seems that the phone will have 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of expandable storage and will run on Android 15. The 6.78-inch display uses an OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, and the phone will be equipped with a 5,000mAh battery and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
As for the network, Trump Mobile’s online terms of service state that it is «powered by Liberty Mobile», a freedom-themed mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) that uses the T-Mobile network. Plan 47 includes unlimited talk, text, and data, as well as roadside assistance from Drive America and access to 24/7 telehealth.
