Estonian company Krattworks presented a line of drones at the World Defense Show and announced that it is preparing solutions for the Ukrainian military. Among the systems shown: the Ghost Dragon reconnaissance drone, the DART-R decoy drone and the SLM light loitering munition.
According to Military, Krattworks has already tested a small reconnaissance drone Ghost Dragon in Ukraine. The company reported that they have joint projects with Ukraine and are also looking at Ukrainian manufacturers, since, according to them, the most modern technologies are now emerging here. A Ukrainian ammunition company was also present at the Krattworks stand, which is considering cooperation with drone manufacturers.
Ghost Dragon is positioned as a tactical reconnaissance drone with a daytime camera and a thermal imager. The manufacturer claims that the wide frequency hopping radio system increases resistance to jamming. Krattworks also claims that the narrow-angle thermal imager allows you to receive video from a height of about 200 meters with quality comparable to DJI or Autel at a much lower altitude. Optionally, the device is integrated with the Ukrainian «Kropyva» system, and the video and target coordinates are georeferenced. For camouflage, the operator can move the antenna up to 100 meters, and in radio silence mode, if GNSS is available, the drone records data on an encrypted SD card for viewing after landing.
The DART-R is described as a drone that can be used as a decoy and an aerial target with X- or S-band radar reflectors. The claimed characteristics are: up to 200 km of one-way flight, speed up to 200 km/h and launch without a catapult. A smoke generator, heat traps or a miss indicator can be used as a payload.
SLM (Small Light Munition) is a light barrage munition that works in tandem with a reconnaissance drone. The developers say that a cumulative warhead with additional fragmentation effect is now available, and three more types are being prepared for different tasks, with the idea of interchangeability in the field. The SLM, according to the company, can attack from above at an angle of 90 degrees and hit targets at a distance of up to 10 km via a radio channel.
A little more about Krattworks
This is an Estonian UAV developer that promotes its solutions for use in active electronic warfare. The company emphasizes communication stability, the ability to operate in radio silence mode, and integration with Ukrainian situational awareness tools.
