Fedorov's press service said that his former position does not prevent him from advising the Italian Ministry of Defense. What will his new role entail?
According to Mykhailo Fedorov’s press secretary, Snizhana Rakcheeva, his former position as Minister of Defense of Ukraine does not impose restrictions on his work as an advisor to the head of the Italian Ministry of Defense. The press service also stated that this is just one of dozens of international cooperation projects that Fedorov is planning.
«This does not involve the disclosure of state secrets or the transfer of special information necessary for the development, production or use of military products, as well as other technical documentation or information with restricted access,» the press service said.
However, Fedorov will continue to live and work in Ukraine, and Crosetto will be a freelance advisor.
On August 28, Fedorov agreed to become Crosetto’s advisor on defense innovation. During their meeting, they discussed drones, unmanned systems, air defense, and the development of the technology ecosystem.
«Today, it is no longer enough to simply have knowledge of new technologies: it is important to have the ability to adapt organizational processes, quickly transforming experimental developments into operational solutions that can be implemented at scale. Changing scenarios and new ways of managing conflicts require us to increasingly efficient national development and production processes, combining technological excellence with industrial capabilities and the speed of response necessary to respond to future challenges,» says Crosetto.
Also, according to the Italian agency ANSA, Fedorov received offers of cooperation from other countries, but he refused them and agreed to work with Italy. However, the agency does not specify which countries approached him.
Previously, dev.ua wrote that Mykhailo Fedorov agreed to become an advisor to Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto in the field of digitalization and defense tech.
