The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police have dismantled six mobilization evasion schemes across the country, including a network of fictitious IT companies across the country.
In Kyiv, SBU cyber specialists exposed the organizer of a large-scale illegal "booking" scheme.
The perpetrator, together with her accomplices, created a network of fake IT companies throughout Ukraine, through which she fictitiously employed potential conscripts for money in order to further "book" them and obtain a deferral from military service.
In addition to the Kyiv scheme with IT companies, law enforcement officers detained a total of 11 organizers who helped draftees avoid conscription for amounts up to $25,000. In particular, in the Lviv region, a CCC official falsified the service data of 80 people in the "Oberig" system, and two local residents organized a mountain "transfer" to the EU; in the Odesa and Ternopil regions, corruption schemes for buying fictitious diagnoses and disability groups through doctors were blocked, and in the Khmelnytskyi region, a businessman was detained for attempting to smuggle a draft evader across the border on foot.
All detainees have been charged under a number of articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, including obstruction of the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, illegal smuggling of persons across the border, official forgery, and unauthorized actions with electronic data. The perpetrators face up to 9 years in prison with confiscation of property.
