Forbes Ukraine reports on the size of the investment, citing Fire Point's technical director Iryna Terek. She noted that the $100 million investment is approximate, and the company's main goal is to reduce the cost of one ballistic missile to less than $1 million.
As Terek noted, Fire Point already has about a dozen FP-7 and FP-9 missiles for experimental launches. Currently, the manufacturer can produce up to three missiles per day.
The company also shared the nuances of building a solid rocket fuel plant in Denmark. To implement the project, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allowed the company to withdraw €20 million abroad under a special quota of the National Bank.
According to company representatives, the purchase of land and premises of the old factory in Denmark was even cheaper than similar facilities in the Kyiv region.
The Flamingo missile manufacturer announced in September the development of the FP-7 and FP-9 ballistic missiles, which have the potential for air defense. The development of the FP-7 ballistic missile began in August 2024. Its declared operating range is up to 200 km, and the maximum payload is 150 kg. The second missile, the FP-9, can fly 855 km and carry an 800 kg payload.
