As reported by "Military", this was reported by the company's technical director Irina Terek in an interview with the French publication Air & Cosmos. According to her, if at the initial stages the company was completely dependent on imported power plants, then later it became obvious that external supplies were a bottleneck that hindered scaling. This prompted the management to make a strategic decision to switch to its own production.
Today, Fire Point manufactures 80 out of 82 engine parts, which is 97.5% of the total design. The company has mastered the full technological cycle: from injection molding and milling to machining and final assembly. This approach has allowed not only to get rid of dependence on suppliers, but also to save significantly.
The cost of producing mufflers locally has dropped from €400 (import price) to just over €70. This is critically important, given that production volumes already exceed 200 boards per day, and the plans are to reach 400 units.
French journalist Xavier Teitelman, who visited the production facility, noted that no supplier in the world could provide the same rate of component shipments that the company's internal resources currently cover. This allows Ukraine to increase parity in the field of long-range weapons.
Previously, a UAE-based defense holding company expressed interest in acquiring 30% of Fire Point for $760 million, valuing the company at $2.5 billion.
