According to Justin Marston, CEO and co-founder of Campus Guardian Angel, drones can begin responding to a shooter within 60 seconds of the school notifying his company of the attack. The operator remotely controls the drone from Texas, writes Newsbreak.
Campus Guardian Angel drones are ready to fly out of the box, have sirens, and can fire non-lethal weapons. They are designed to delay shooters and give police time to arrive.
«We will try to make it difficult for this person to see or breathe, and if they still try to kill the children, then we will attack them with the drones themselves,» Marston said.
He added that a small drone is not such an easy target for an attacker and compared it to a mosquito.
«When you’re attacked by multiple drones, in waves of three, even if you shoot down one of them, the other two will still continue to attack you. Again, our goal is simply to buy time for law enforcement to arrive on the scene,» explained the head of Campus Guardian Angel.
Marston said the cost of a drone system for school districts is about $4 per month per student, a low cost that he believes opens the door to mass adoption in public schools.
Previously, CEO and founder of Fourth Law, as well as Co-founder of Odd Systems Yaroslav Azhnyuk criticized European arms manufacturers, as well as Europe’s attempts to «sit on two chairs» during the Russian-Ukrainian war.
«On the front line, 60-80% of losses are from drones — the same applies to the opposing side. I saw how poor the combat readiness is regarding FPV in Europe and the USA. How many FPV drones did your country produce last year?», Azhnyuk asked.
