French defense startup Alta Ares, which specializes in air defense and edge artificial intelligence and has an office in Kyiv, announced a financing round of 50 million euros.
As reported on the company’s official website, the round was led by venture capital firm Air Street Capital, and was also joined by Cherry Ventures, OTB Ventures, and Harpoon Ventures.
«Our goal is to create not just technologies, but comprehensive air defense solutions. This round provides us with the resources to accelerate our industrialization, product development, and international expansion,» said Adrien Kanter, CEO and co-founder of Alta Ares.
The company also added that this capital injection comes against the backdrop of its commercial growth, including the signing of multi-million dollar contracts and the active deployment of its products in several theaters of war.
Alta Ares is currently developing two different classes of interceptors:
X-Lock, designed to combat Shahed-136-type threats;
Black Bird, designed to engage high-speed targets such as cruise missiles and FAB 500 bombs.
It is also reported that after attracting investment, Alta Ares plans to open new offices in the Middle East and Asia, while simultaneously strengthening the production capacities of its enterprises in France (Toulouse) and Ukraine.
