Google has announced the expansion of AI Mode capabilities. Now, artificial intelligence not only searches for information, but also helps you plan your trips in full: it tracks airfare prices, selects and books hotels, and displays prices in miles and bonuses.
Users can freely describe the desired route and dates, reports TechCrunch. AI will show the best options and current prices from more than 300 airlines and travel agencies. If the passenger is not ready to buy tickets right away, he can give the command: “Watch the prices for these flights.” As soon as the cost of the flight changes, a corresponding notification will be sent to the email. The price monitoring function is already available in more than 180 countries around the world.
The AI assistant helps find accommodation based on the user's personal preferences, displaying a list of options along with guest reviews and key characteristics.
To make a reservation, simply select the “Continue on Google” option. The user will be able to select a room type, review cancellation terms, and pay via Google Pay. Hotels or partner platforms will handle direct booking processing and customer support. The hotel booking feature is currently being launched in the US in English, and partners include giants such as Booking.com, Expedia, Hilton, Marriott International, IHG, Trip.com, and others.
Another new feature is the ability to see the cost of tickets and rooms in bonus points. Users can make a query like: “I want to fly from Atlanta to Miami for AA miles. Find direct flights departing on October 9 and returning on October 12.” AI Mode will calculate the required number of miles for the booking. This feature is already rolling out globally.
