«As an elderly person (25+), today I decided to do what people in my position do — go through the first aid kit at home. But I’m too smart (so I thought) to do everything manually,» wrote the expert who develops a Telegram channel about AI with over 20,000 subscribers.
He said he took pictures of his medications from both sides and asked OpenAI’s o3 AI model to create a table that listed keywords, instructions for use, and expiration dates for the medications. The expert noted that he threw away a significant number of expired pills.
He also created a bot in Telegram that connects to Google Sheet via API and, upon request, writes the availability of various medications and notifies about drugs that are expiring or that need to be thrown away.
«I also plan to make GPTs or an agent through Gemini: I upload a photo of the medicines I just bought, and the agent automatically enters the data into the table. Result: what was supposed to take half an hour, lasted a little over 4 hours,» the author of the Telegram channel noted.
He believes it’s «a cool example of automation that anyone can benefit from.»
The expert also provided instructions on how to automate your first aid kit. He shared the bot code and requirements, warning that it is «the result of a passionate love affair between a neural network and a vibecoder,» and therefore may contain bugs. According to him, his table structure is optimal, but it can be changed, but changes must also be made to the code itself.
