The hooligans who threw sex toys onto the courts of women's NBA games turned out to be crypto enthusiasts promoting the Green Dildo Coin memecoin
In the past few weeks, people in the US have been throwing bright green dildos at WNBA basketball players — at least five such incidents have been reported. It turned out that these incidents were connected to a group of crypto enthusiasts who were promoting the Green Dildo Coin, a coin that has gained a capitalization of $12 million.
Two 25-year-old men, Delbert Carver and Kaden Lopez, have been arrested in connection with the incidents, Ars Technica reports.
WNBA players have strongly expressed their dislike and disapproval of such actions, and Cosmopolitan called them «idiots who throw dildos on the court» and «don’t care about what women deserve and how disgusting and offensive their actions are».
However, the son of US President Donald Trump decided that this was a hype enough event and recently posted a photo on Instagram of his father throwing a large green dildo at women on the basketball court on the roof of the White House.
Both arrested men reportedly claimed the incidents were pranks, with one of them saying the idea was to «go viral.» However, American journalists have since learned that the men were actually crypto enthusiasts promoting the Green Dildo Coin, a meme cryptocurrency that currently has a market cap of $12 million.
A representative for Green Dildo Coin said that these antics were a form of «protest» against injustice and a «small group of individuals» who allegedly control the crypto market. According to him, the incidents were intended to attract the attention of social media and the media, and now that this has been achieved, the Green Dildo Coin group will take the next step.
«We knew that in order to be heard in this space… we had to go out and do some viral stunts to avoid having to pay this clique of influencers, sacrificing our souls and the fate of the project», — said a representative of the meme coin.
Another member of the group stated that their actions would force the crypto community to think outside the box.
«Be creative and do something that will actually make people laugh. Memecoins should make you laugh… The whole mission was to focus on impacting crypto culture», — he noted.
However, it’s not funny, at least for WNBA basketball players and many other female athletes who are angered by the actions of crypto enthusiasts.
«Sexualizing women is used to oppress women, and this is no exception. The people who do it need to be held accountable», — Minnesota Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve said.
Recall that earlier, scammers created a meme cryptocurrency STONKS9800 (STONKS), which uses the name and image of the game STONKS-9800: Stock Market Simulator by Ukrainian developer Ruslan «Ternox» Salikov without his permission. He told dev.ua that he has already filed complaints against the creators of the meme coin, but does not really believe that they will act.
Trump’s pastor launched his own meme coin hours after delivering his blessing at the president’s inauguration. The coin’s value fell almost 100% a day later
