Laptops and smartphones will become more expensive by 20-30%: the reason is problems with flash memory

Equipment with flash drives — laptops and smart devices — will increase in price by 20-30% in the near future.

This was warned by the owner of Citrus and Yabluk, Artur Hatunok, in an interview with LIGA.net.

According to him, the reason is the shortage of flash memory on the global market. In general, the electronics market in Ukraine continues to shrink — both in units and in money — despite the fact that the number of gadgets in the world is growing. The classic consumer behavior of «running to the store when the exchange rate rises» is no longer there — the last surge in demand of this type was in April 2025 against the backdrop of Trump’s statements about tariffs.

Meanwhile, Hatunok predicts that the company’s revenue will increase from UAH 4 billion in 2025 to UAH 8-9 billion in 2026.

Citrus acquired the brand in the summer of 2025 and began a transformation — changing the team, rebuilding the business model, and restoring staff motivation. According to him, at the time of the purchase, the company had no top managers, and only 30% of the employees remained in retail. In March 2026, the chain showed a record monthly revenue in its entire history.

Yabluka’s revenue in 2025 was about UAH 2 billion, and growth is also expected in 2026.
