Defense-tech company General Chereshnya announced the start of training for interceptor drone pilots at its own academy.
dev.ua reported that the project will start on October 1.
In particular, the academy will train UAV operators to shoot down enemy strike and reconnaissance drones with the company’s own product — the General Chereshnya AIR interceptor drone.
«General Chereshnya AIR appeared as a response to the need to shoot down Russian reconnaissance drones that hung for hours and adjusted strikes, including on civilian objects,» the company notes.
It is assumed that the format of the «General Chereshny Academy» will include the work of mobile training groups that will travel to brigades for practical training in working with interceptors, demonstrations, and support sessions.
«Essentially, this is a light course with an emphasis on practice: piloting FPV interceptors, application tactics, basic diagnostics, and maintenance,» the UAV manufacturer added.
The head of the academy is to be Oleksandr «Drakar» — a military man and veteran, as well as an advisor on strategic developments for the General Chereshnya company.
The training is primarily intended for military personnel who are already working in intensive areas of the air defense zone and need to strengthen air defense, as well as mobile air defense groups engaged in neutralizing «shaheeds».
As dev.ua reported, Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that the United Kingdom will produce interceptor drones for Ukraine. The first 1,000 units are expected.
In turn, the Czech defense company LPP sro introduced a new JWI-4000 «Shaheed» interceptor drone with artificial intelligence, which can climb to a height of 4 km and reach speeds of up to 300 km/h.
